       What is an FSA ID?

       An FSA ID is a username and password that you must use to log in to certain U.S. Department of Education (ED) websites. Your FSA ID identifies you as someone who has the right to access your own personal information on ED websites such as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA^®) at fafsa.gov.

       If you are a parent of a dependent student, you will need your own FSA ID if you want to sign your child's FAFSA electronically. If you have more than one child attending college, you can use the same FSA ID to sign all applications. Please note: Each FSA ID user must have a unique e-mail address.

       Have you completed your FAFSA yet?

       Filling out the FAFSA^® can be a straightforward and easy process. The online FAFSA at fafsa.gov will guide you through the application; click on the “Start A New FAFSA” button on the home page, and just follow the directions on the screen.

       Use your FSA ID to Sign-In and then you can sign your Master Promissory Note.

       What is a Master Promissory Note?

       The Master Promissory Note (MPN) is a legal document in which you promise to repay your loan(s) and any accrued interest and fees to the U.S. Department of Education. It also explains the terms and conditions of your loan(s); for instance, it will include information on how interest is calculated and what deferment and cancellation provisions are available to you.

       FASTChoice helps you request the loan you determine is right for you by providing detailed information for various loans, as well as the terms and benefits offered by different lenders.

       Financial need is normally based on each student’s or family’s gross annual income from the previous tax year. If your income has recently decreased or you have an unforeseen financial hardship that was not taken into account on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), we may be able to reevaluate your financial need based on your projected gross income for the 2016 tax-year (January 1, 2016-December 31, 2016). Please remember that not all special circumstance recalculations will result in additional financial aid and cannot be appealed to the U.S. Department of Education.
